About Wool-En-Design

How it all started...

At an early age my Mom and Grandma would sit me down and practice sewing, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, or whatever else would keep me busy. I had a love of making and learned as much as I could in fiber arts.

After high school I went on to study art education in college and graduated with a B.S. in Art Education from St. Cloud State University in the fall of 2005. I later attended Concordia University Irvine to get a Masters in Education.

I dabbled in painting and ceramics for years, but after taking a needle felting class with my aunt, I realized I had found my new media. I am amazed by the versatility of working with wool and silk fibers. After some encouragement I was determined to start selling my wearable art under the name Wool-EN-Design.

I currently teach elementary art in Northfield, Minnesota. I am also an instructor at the Northfield Arts Guild, 50 North, and Northfield Yarn.

I hope you enjoy my work,

Erica Ness
